Moving from Gate 1 to Gate 2

Following Connections Reform, projects are classified by NESO as either Gate 1 or Gate 2.

If your project has received a Gate 1 outcome, you may be able to request a reassessment to progress through a future gated application window.

There are two options for progressing from Gate 1 to Gate 2, which are explained below.

Option A: Ask us to reassess your distribution offer now

Choose this option if you want NGED to reassess your distribution connection offer before you apply through a NESO gated window.

We will review the Point of Connection, distribution works and associated costs using the information currently available.

Your reassessed offer may change again following the NESO gated process or an assessment of transmission impacts.

Option B: Progress through a NESO gated window

This option allows you to progress through the NESO gated application process using your indicative distribution offer.

Following the outcome of the NESO process and any transmission impact assessment, we may need to reassess your Point of Connection, works, costs and timescales.

Current status

Option B is currently closed because we are not accepting evidence for the relevant NESO gated application window at this time. This option will become available when a future evidence submission window opens.
