De-energising and re-energising an installation

To de-energise and re-energise a supply, you should contact your electricity supplier. Your Electricity Supplier is the company you pay your electricity bills to.

If you are unsure of who your Electricity Supplier is you can:

  • Check your bills for contact details
  • Visit our ‘Who is my Supplier’ tool here

Permanently disconnect a supply

To request that your supply be permanently disconnected, please fill out our online general enquiries form.

If you would prefer to speak to a member of our team, you can call our general enquiries number on 0800 096 3080.

You should also contact your Electricity Supplier so that they can remove your meter and close your account.

Install an isolation switch

An isolation switch can be operated by your electrician, so that they can de-energise and re-energise your installation themselves.

We can install an isolation switch for you, simply fill in our online general enquiries form.

If you would prefer to speak to a member of our team, you can call our general enquiries number on 0800 096 3080.

What is a DNO?

A Distribution Network Operator (or a ‘DNO’ for short) is responsible for delivering high voltage electricity across an electricity network, through power lines and underground cables. We are not a supplier - the company you pay your electricity bill to. Suppliers pay us to make use of our network (roughly £100 of your total bill per year).

We can help with queries about connecting your property, power cuts or moving your meter. Find out more about us here.
