Yesterday (29 July 2026), Ofgem launched a brand-new consultation as part of its ‘Curate’ pillar for Demand Reform.
This consultation looks at two proposals that aim to reduce the number of non-viable projects in the connections queue. The proposals include a commitment fee and additional milestones. You can view the Ofgem consultation on their website.
NGED will be reviewing and responding by the closing date of 16 September 2026. We are encouraging data centre developers and operators to do the same.
We’ll be able to share further information at our next Connections Reform Customer webinar at 10am on 13 August 2026. Please register, and we hope to see you there.
